My name is Colton Hopkin, and I am the founder, designer, and creator of Classic Iron Apparel.

My passion for fitness began at a young age through competitive sports, including football and wrestling. Those experiences introduced me to the discipline, dedication, and work ethic required to continuously improve both physically and mentally. Around the same time, I became fascinated with the golden era of bodybuilding, inspired by legends such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Frank Zane, Mike Mentzer, and many others who helped define the sport.

As a young athlete, I spent countless hours in the gym learning everything I could. I didn't always know exactly what I was doing, but I loved the atmosphere, the challenge, and the opportunity to become a better version of myself. Over the years, that curiosity evolved into a deeper commitment to understanding training, kinesiology, nutrition, and performance optimization.

My journey eventually led me to compete in multiple natural bodybuilding organizations, where I gained firsthand experience with the dedication required to build an exceptional physique without relying on performance-enhancing drugs. Through years of training and competition, I witnessed significant changes within the fitness and bodybuilding industry. While advancements in training methods and sports science have been beneficial, the culture and aesthetics that once defined classic bodybuilding have gradually faded.

The golden era of bodybuilding—from the 1960s through the 1980s—represented more than just impressive physiques. It embodied balance, symmetry, hard work, and a timeless style that inspired generations of athletes. Today, much of that classic aesthetic has been overshadowed by changing trends and an increasing focus on extremes. The primary focus has become muscle mass over anything else, leading to a lack of flow and aesthetic.

At the same time, the cost of nearly everything continues to rise, making quality fitness apparel less accessible for many athletes. I created Classic Iron Apparel to preserve the values, style, and spirit of classic bodybuilding while providing high-quality apparel at affordable prices.

Every design is inspired by the vintage bodybuilding culture that first sparked my passion for the gym. Our mission is simple: create apparel that reflects the timeless look of the golden era while supporting hardworking athletes who are committed to earning their results through dedication and discipline.
